'DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PARADES CRIME SUSPECTS.

ARMED ROBBERY AND KIDNAPPING: 

On the 10/02/2017, one Genevieve Uwamedua ‘f’ of opposite Legislative quarters, Asaba, was kidnapped by five armed-men kidnapping gang while driving in her Lexus jeep very close to her residence.

On receipt of the report, three of the suspected kidnappers by name Onyenweife Charles, Okafor Joshua and Michael Oyi ikechukwu were tracked down and arrested. 

They confessed to the crime and admitted receiving the sum of fifty thousand naira each, as their own share of two million naira ransom paid by the victim’s family. 

One of the suspects by name Onyenweife Charles was identified by the investigating team as one of the armed robbery suspects arrested sometime in 2016 at Otulu village and was charged to Magistrate court Issele-uku, in suit No. MI/9C/2016. on interrogation, the said Onyeweife Charles disclosed that he was released based on DPP’s report between the month of June and July, 2016.

CONSPIRACY AND KIDNAPPING: 

On 09/02/2016, a four man gang of kidnappers operating with Jetta vehicle, Delta taxi colour by off summit road, Asaba, shot one Eche Peter Azi (m) with a pump action gun and also kidnapped his relation, one Mr. Uchenna Ifeacho.

The injured victim was rushed to Federal Medical Center, Asaba, while the kidnapped victim was rescued on the same date at about 2130hrs by SAKCCS operatives.

On 20/02/2017, while acting on available intelligence, one Nnamdi Agusi (m) of Achala-Ibusa road was arrested. He confessed to the crime and admitted being among the four-man kidnapping gang that kidnapped the victim on 09/02/2017. he also mentioned one Nnamdi (m), Emeka (m) ‘aka’ Major General, now at large to be his gang members.

Two pump action guns loaded with live cartridges, their operational vehicle and four face masks were recovered from the arrested suspect. Investigation is still in progress and effort is on top gear to arrest the fleeing suspects'

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board [JAMB] in a bid to highlight the major pr-registration tips to candidates has disclosed that there is no more room for candidates to select two public university during online registration starting from 2017.

But If a candidate wishes to select a public University as their degree awarding choice, then they are only allowed to select a private University as another choice.

What we mean by the above statement is that you can only select 1 public & 1 private university as 1st and 2nd choice.

This information was actually disclosed via the official twitter handle of the board.

According to reports,7 Fulani gunmen in possession of arms at Azagba Ogwashi were arrested on Wednesday 22nd February at about 5:00am by Men of the Anioma Security Watch Network Vigilante group Azagba Ogwashi unit.

The vigilante members stopped a trailer conveying the Fulani gunmen,load of cows & their luggage at Azagba Junction.The suspected Fulani gunmen were  interrogated and the following weapons were found in their possession:

BBN Is A Corruption Of TV Reality Shows, CitizenGO Files Petition To NBC To Stop Airing

A non-governmental organization, called CitizenGO, is said to currently be garnering votes online to terminate the airing of popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija.

Reports have it the group sent their petition to policy makers, the National Broadcasting Commission, the Presidency and the public and are aiming to get at least 5,000 signatures, they have about 3,160 signatures.

Their petition reads:

“Big Brother Nigeria is a corruption of TV Reality shows. The Nigerian public is complaining about the moral perversity in the House of the Big Brother Nigeria. In one episode last two weeks or so, the inmates were shown openly kissing and caressing one another. This is a celebration of obscenity, eroticism and idleness. More importantly, it is a big mockery of Nigerian culture and tradition. Since the inmates are Nigerians, they should have been projecting the Nigerian cultural heritage. But instead of doing that, they are bastardizing it. The biggest tragedy of the on-going Big Brother Nigeria is that our children are also glued to the TV screen watching it. Children are our future. Therefore we should protect them from lewd exposure, which might prevent their growth into free, independent and well-developed citizens. The NBC must live up to its bidding as a body charged with controlling, monitoring, regulating the electronic media and monitoring of satellite transmission in Nigeria. Our TV stations cannot become dumping grounds for all sorts of immoral programs.”

UNIILORIN Suspends Lecturers For Whistle Blowing

The affected lecturers on their part alleged that they are being victimized for exposing corruption in the institution.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali while noting that the suspension was necessary distanced his office from the action.

One of the affected lecturer, Afolayan noted that though the reason for their suspension was not known but believed it has to do with their blowing of whistle of alleged impunity and corruption in the institution.

However, the Factional Vice Chairman of ASUU, Dr Bode Olumorin has called on the federal government to come to their aid, adding that since the government advised people to point out corrupt practices, they should not be abandoned.

The period for the suspension was not mentioned in the letter and the suspended lecturers had petitioned their national body for redress.

With both parties sticking to their positions, interest groups in the university are looking forward to a compromise.

Bad News For Guiders As MMM Announces New Strategy

The latest announcement from MMM Nigeria was released on Wednesday, February 22.

Participants are already saying the message is a confirmation that the MMM admin has been listening to their complaints and suggestions.

The new message reads: 

“You constantly reproach us stating we don’t listen to your opinions however we really do. We try to carry out the most reasonable and efficient suggestions immediately.

Particularly, in accordance with your suggestions, we will soon take the following measures:

We will stop the growth of confirmed Mavros acquired before the 1st of January 2017.

We will freeze the bonuses received before the 1st of January 2017 (so that limited withdrawal of Mavro-2016 will include only contributions, not bonuses).

We will introduce a new rule according to which the withdrawal amount cannot exceed triple amount of the provided help (so, GH cannot exceed PH more than in 3 times).

Many participants and guiders withdraw bonuses in such big amounts without PH that it threatens the stability of the whole System. (We don’t agree, however we will accept preferences of the majority. With this rule, you can’t withdraw only bonuses without providing help.

Therefore, keep on sending us your suggestions. We will take them into account (At least, we will try).”

Some participants are happy about the new strategy while some others think it is not the best decision. Since its return on January 13, MMM Nigeria has been struggling to gain the confidence of participants who are yet to get back the money they invested in the scheme before it went on one month break in December. Some have lost hope of ever getting their money back while others are still optimistic things will get back to normal.
