Grammy-winning gospel star, Edwin Hawkins, who is best known for 'Gracious Cheerful Day', has passed on at 74 years old.
Hawkins passed on at his home in Pleasanton, California on Monday.
He had been experiencing pancreatic malignancy, as per his marketing specialist Bill Craftsman.
Hawkins, a pioneer of current gospel and moving music, was among the principal vocalists to appreciate business accomplishment with the class.
He was an author, keyboardist, arranger and choir ace who helped shape the Northern California State Youth Choir.
'Gracious Glad Day', including the vocals of Dorothy Brushes Morrison, was discharged in 1969.
The melody achieved the main 10 on the pop outlines, going ahead to win a Grammy for best soul gospel execution.
The Californian discharged many collections in the vicinity of 1968 and 1998 acquiring a few honors.
His honors included four Grammy grants.
