Buhari Fires Justices Ademola, Tokode

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday endorsed the obligatory retirement of Honorable Justice A. F. An Ademola of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court and the rejection from office of Honorable Justice O.O Tokode of the Benin Division of the Federal High Court.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in an announcement, said this took after proposals from the National Judicial Council (NJC).

He said the disciplinary activities on the two Justices were in compatibility of area 292 (1) (b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as corrected).

As indicated by Shehu, "Equity O.O. Tokode is additionally to discount all pay rates and remittances earned illicitly from second December, 2015 when he was confirmed as a Judge of the Federal High Court to date."

He said the president encouraged legal officers to be alive to their obligations and shun defilement in the release of their obligations.
