Dairy cattle Colony: Kogi Hands Over 15,000 Hectares Of Land To FG
The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on Friday said the state government had put aside 15,000 hectares of land to actualize the cows settlement strategy of the Federal government
Senator Bello amid a visit to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said it was fundamental that the State gives the land to oblige the herders and add to closure the incessant conflicts amongst ranchers and herders.
The Governor while formally giving over the 15,000 hectares of land through a letter to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, said 5,000 hectares of land was put aside in Adavi nearby government, while the staying 10,000 will be situated in Ajaokuta neighborhood government in the State.
As indicated by him "[I] am here indeed going by this service and the Minister in continuation of our exertion as a state government to enter into the program of the Ministry as far as the Cattle Colony also called the aggregation of steers farms program of the Federal Government.
"We came here some time back, showing our advantage and our status to partake in this program. Am here [and] upbeat to advise the Honorable Minister and the Ministry, that the general population of Kogi state have entered into the program 100 percent.
"We are ready and prepared to pilot the program in Kogi State and all things considered our kin has been very much sharpened, and instructed about what this program is about.
"Ensuing upon that, we have possessed the capacity to reserve and secure 15,000 hectares of land to departure this specific program.
"We have 10,000 hectares in Ajaokuta Local Government, and 5,000 hectares in Adavi Local Government, the nearby group have been very much sharpened, and readily, they are prepared to enter in. These terrains have been secured and in that capacity, am here to pass on this
